The comfort hiking trail around Echternach Lake offers a great opportunity to explore the nature of the region. The lake, surrounded by forest, invites you to enjoy a relaxing hike, and the proximity to the water has a calming effect.

For families with children, the playgrounds along the trail offer plenty of opportunities for adventure and fun. A wheelchair swing is available at the playground opposite the Roman villa. The refreshment options along the route provide welcome breaks.

On warm days, the bathing area at the lake invites you to cool off. There is also the option to rent a pedal boat or a stand-up paddleboard.

The starting point of the trail is next to the trampoline park. From the youth hostel parking lot, head toward the lake. From there, the trail can be walked in both directions. Starting to the left, there is an option to turn off to the bathing area. There is also an accessible toilet there. Continue along the trail to reach an accessible fishing spot. There are barbecue facilities along the path. Follow the trail signs further and you will pass a jetty that allows closer access to the water. The trail continues along a small group of islands. Exploring these is possible via a non-accessible alternative. The path continues to small playgrounds and a refreshment stop. Then you proceed to the Roman villa and a playground with low-barrier play equipment. There is also an accessible toilet there. If you continue along the trail, you will soon return to the starting point.

No special equipment required. The path is generally easy to walk on and is stroller- and wheelchair-friendly. It is sufficiently wide and has a gradient of more than 6% in just a few places (max. gradient 14% for less than 100 metres). This means that this trail is suitable for families, older guests or people with limited mobility.

The rent-a-bike station at the Echternach youth hostel also rents out wheelchair towing machines (Swiss Tracs).

Free parking is available at the youth hostel, including disabled parking spaces.

Access is possible from the Echternach Nonnemillen/Lac bus stop. Cross the parking lot to the lake and follow the trail markings.

There are public toilets at the entrance to the Roman villa and at the pedal boat dock / bathing beach.

The indicated duration is an approximate guideline. You may need more or less time. Please plan accordingly.
