Echternach mountain bike route

After starting at the youth hostel in Echternach, the route first goes around Echternach Lake. At the southeastern end of the lake, the route leads up over Roudenhaff to the village of Osweiler. Continuing uphill to Frombuerger Haff, where locally produced regional products are offered in a small farm shop. The route continues on narrow paths through the forest and then descends to Lauterbur with a place to stop, then a short section on the comfortable national cycling route "PC2". Through the picturesque valley "Leiwerdëllt" it goes up to Melickshaff and then back down to Echternach. Initially, the mountain bike route runs along the Sauer riverbank, then through the beautiful Echternach city park with the Rococo pavilion. Then it leads through the medieval lanes and finally over the height "Tull" with beautiful views back to the starting point at the youth hostel.

• Make sure your equipment is in good condition. Bring a repair kit.
• Pedestrians have the right of way. Ride slowly and dismount if necessary.
• Stay on the marked trails and adhere to prohibitions.
• Keep your speed under control and be ready to brake when crossing paths.
• Ride slower in residential areas.
• Do not cut corners.
• Be considerate of plants and animals.
• Take your trash with you.

Wear a helmet and appropriate protective gear.

Enjoy a refreshment after the route on one of the numerous terraces on the historic Echternach market square.
